Two sisters fall out over her father’s estate

Dear Moneyologist,

During Christmas time 2012, my father advised my personal sibling and myself which he got made my brother a signatory on his bank account so she could settle payments from their bank-account when he passed away. The guy considered us and mentioned, “The relax gets divided between you two.” The guy died all of a sudden five period later on (my personal mommy predeceased him 2 years earlier). Despite exactly what the guy told us, my dad did not have a will. After almost four period in probate I discovered that father had inadvertently produced my personal sister an owner of their bank account, not just a signatory. The law firm we retained states this happens often and is also usually corrected within the will most likely or by heir receiving any additional revenue.

That never took place. My personal cousin declined and held the $100,000 which was within the bank-account — and have refunded for any expenses outside of the additional assets associated with the property. I have cut-off links using my sibling, which was not difficult, since we were never near. She resides in Boston, in which we’re from, and I reside in Virginia, but I give family events because we don’t would you like to deliver the drama to some body else’s wedding day.
